Achievements
 To date, CREW has:
- Successfully lobbied the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service to propose a Northeast wolf recovery plan in 2000.
- Sponsored wolf recovery conferences and meetings in Maine, New Hampshire, New York, and Vermont.
- Conducted dozens of slide shows and presentations.
- Supported research to identify suitable wolf habitat.
- Distributed thousands of copies of newsletters focusing on wolf recovery.
- Collected more than 150,000 petition signatures in support of wolf recovery.
In 2005, CREW held state-level meetings on wolf recovery efforts, distributing educational materials, encouraging the development of state management plans for the wolf, and forging partnerships with agencies, policymakers, landowners, citizen’s groups, land trusts, and others. We are also monitoring and participating in the public policy process related to wolf recovery.
